Laurie Sheppard, a Life Coach and Career Strategist for Women

Laurie Sheppard is a Master Certified Life Coach and Career Strategist who has been a professional coach in her own company, Creating At Will, since 1994. Since that time she has helped thousands of clients with life planning, career development, and transitions.

When Laurie started out in her large family of ten, there was little time for individual conversations about what she'd like to do when she grows up.  From traveling and living in Japan, to herding goats in a large spiritual commune and working in natural food stores, Laurie has had diverse career experiences.  You might say, it was trial and error alot!

Through her own process of self-discovery, her constant readings and trainings in personal and professional development and her many coaching hours being supported by others, Laurie realized she was a lifelong learner and passionate about change and being effective with it.  So she set out to be certified as a coach to help others.

For over 15 years Laurie has assisted men and women (though she primarily serves working female professionals) entrepreneurs, and career changers, including those women who are women returning to the workforce, and women managers.

Laurie's coaching philosophy is to help her clients first understand where they currently are and then build a bridge to move forward to where they want to be. And one of her primary specialties is assisting her clients sustain their personal renewal through their goal launch process.

Prior to starting her own company, Laurie spent over a decade in both administrative support and legal secretarial positions for major corporations and legal firms. During this period she also worked as a project manager with the Los Angeles Youth At Risk Foundation where she implemented programs to help at-risk youth.  Today she volunteers weekly in adult literacy.

The mission of Creating At Will is to assist her clients to achieve their desired results and maximize their potential while living balanced lives. To achieve this mission she offers programs that create "well-rounded" solutions for addressing new challenges and changes. They range from one-on-one coaching for individuals and groups, to workshops and professional presentations to business groups. 

Laurie is also an independent training consultant in innovation and creative problem-solving, workshops founded by thinkx.  She is a frequent speaker for professional women's groups and has authored numerous articles for online publication.  She writes two weekly blogs and a bi-monthly newsletter for Women Entrepreneurs.  Laurie is a two-time author of books on change (creativity and communication), and self-esteem. 

She was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Business and Psychology.

To balance her professional life, Laurie enjoys reading, exercising at the gym, long walks and movies with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends. Laurie lives in West Los Angeles.
